Michael Haas

Dr. Michael Haas

Dr. Haas is a board-certified, comprehensive ophthalmologist who has been in private practice since 2005. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has lived and worked in the Colorado Springs area since 2008.

Dr. Haas was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. He completed his undergraduate studies at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry/Cellular & Molecular Biology. Dr. Haas then completed medical school at the University of Washington in Seattle in 2001. He completed an internship at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio, Texas (2001-2002), and an ophthalmology residency at Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana (2002-2005). He has been in private practice since that time. Dr.Haas has a special interest in cataract surgery, but sees and treats most medical diseases of the eye.

Dr.Haas owns Haas Vision Center in Colorado Springs, and started it because he felt having his own office was necessary in order to provide the highest levels of care to his patients. By owning and running an independent ophthalmology clinic, he can make sure that all patients have minimal waiting times, get all of their questions answered and have the best possible overall service and care. Dr. Haas is dedicated to making you happy with your visit, and he strives to make all of his patients happy in every aspect of their treatment.

Dr. Haas has been a Committee Member for the Comprehensive Ophthalmology subsection of the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Ophthalmic News and Education (O.N.E.) network.

In his spare time Dr. Haas enjoys spending time in the outdoors of Colorado. He is an avid day-hiker who can frequently be found on nearby trails with his wife, daughter and dogs. He enjoys other outdoor activities as well including skiing, running, mountain biking and gardening. Dr. Haas enjoys reading and travel, and his favorite destinations include the Colorado mountain towns over long weekends.

Dave Davis, MD, FACS, FAAO, Captain (retired)/USN/Flight Surgeon

Dr. David DavisDr. Dave Davis grew up in Ponca City Oklahoma.. He graduated from high school there in 1974 with numerous academic honors, and as a member of the wrestling team and the state championvolleyball team.

He then attended Oklahoma State University on aNational Merit and multiple other Scholarships and graduated with dual degrees in Botany and Radiation and Nuclear Technology in the Honors program. After college graduation he attended the University of Oklahoma School of Medicineon the U.S. Navy health professions scholarship program, andthen interned at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock.

He began his military service after his internship in 1984.After 2 years service on destroyers at seaand 5 years as a flight surgeon in Japan, he attended Stanford University for the basic sciences portion, and the Naval Hospital San Diego for the clinical portion of his Navy Ophthalmology residency.

One of theearlier military refractive surgeons, Dr. Davis established and ran the first Military Laser Vision Correction Center in the Southeastern US, where his patients included SEALs, Marines,Underwater Demolirion teams, Submariners, Pilots and Aircrew, and special forces members from all branches of service.

During his 21 year navy career,he received 16 decorations and rose to the rank of Captain in the US Navy. He retired from the Navy in 2005.

In addition to his military service, Dr. Davis has held anumber of academic positions, most recentlyas Clinical Instructor and Associate Director of the Residency inOphthalmology of the University of Florida. He has trained over 45 resident ophthalmologists incataract and refractive surgery, taught ophthalmic anatomy to PA students at the Naval School of Health sciences, proctored optometry residents for the Illinois College of Optometery, andreceived 6 teaching awards from the American Academy of Family Practice for teaching ophthalmology to family practice residents from both the University of Georgia and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.

He has been board certified in ophthalmology since 1995, and recertified in 2005. His board scores were in the top 7% of all ophthalmologists. He holds state medical licences in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Florida in addition to Colorado.

He lives in Woodland Park with his wife Cindy, where his interests include hiking, kayaking, reading, and keeping up with 2 dogs and 4 grown children.

Matthew Chang



Specialty:

Dr. Matthew ChangDr. Chang specializes in corneal transplants, LASIK surgery, glaucoma, and other anterior segment disorders. He prides himself on being at the forefront of the latest technologies and techniques and is actively involved in several current research studies.

Dr. Chang completed his undergraduate degree at the Johns Hopkins University in 1992 and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Kresge Eye Institute in Michigan and his fellowship training at the University of Arizona in the field of cornea, refractive surgery, and external disease.

Dr. Chang takes pride in educating his patients thoroughly so they are personally involved in their vision care. Patient satisfaction is his highest priority.

Demaceo L. Howard



Specialty: Anesthesia/Pain Medicine

Dr. Demaceo Howard Dr. Demaceo Howard was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and did his undergraduate studies at Syracuse University. He received his doctorate from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, N.J., and continued his education with an internal medicine internship at Montefiore Medical Center. He completed his residency at University of Chicago Hospital. It was there when his passion for helping people suffering from chronic pain began.

Dr. Howard specializes in the treatment of acute and chronic pain disorders. He is board certified in anesthesiology with subspecialty certifications in pain medicine and interventional pain medicine. Dr. Howard is a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

In his spare time, Dr. Howard enjoys cycling with his wife.

Dr. Howard is also a physician at The Colorado Springs Pain Relief Center.
